Experience it here.Joint Project 9711 Phase 1(JP9711-1) will provide the services required to deliver a Core Simulation Capability that will provide critical training support to the future force through a significant upgrade and expansion of its simulation capability. The capability will enable Defence to link live and simulated training together for large scale Joint and Combined collective training and to deliver on-demand distributed mission training to the single services of the ADF and Joint Operations Command.Your responsibilities will include:Database Management: Maintain and deliver a schema for storing simulation entity data based on real-world platforms, ensuring compliance with Defence and industry standards.Collaboration & Integration: Work with simulation providers (e.g., AWC, NSWC, FHQ, WTI) to collect, validate, and integrate data into the database.ITSM Compliance: Drive adherence to JCTB IT Service Management (ITSM) policy, including using ITSM toolsets to monitor and resolve data issues, and participate in Change Advisory Boards (CAB).Data Troubleshooting & Reporting: Troubleshoot simulation data issues, generate reports, and perform data analysis to ensure optimal performance.Leadership & Representation: Represent the JCTB-J7 branch in forums and working groups, participating in discussions on data interoperability and standards.Security & Documentation: Oversee classified document management and ensure compliance with Defence security protocols (DSPF, ISM).Professional Development: Identify opportunities for personal growth aligned with JCTB objectives and engage in relevant training.To be successful in this role, you'll have:Substantial IT industry experience, military experience, or a combination of both.Proficiency MySQL, Redhat linux and VMware or equivalent database.Ability to deploy to ADF military installations in support of constructive training events.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical peers and frontline IT leadership.Demonstrated understanding of military capabilities and the ability to conduct oneself in a manner reflective of ADF values.Certifications:ITIL Service Management and REDHAT Administrator certification.Industry certifications in complementary technologies, including VMware and storage solutions.About you:The Simulation Data Manager works alongside peers of differing specialisations within the defence JCTB - J76 directorate. The role reports directly to the Integrated Simulation Solutions Manager on matters relating to administration and management of Simulation Databases. This pivotal role requires expertise in simulation data management, database administration, and a strong understanding of defence and industry standards for simulation data and interoperability.
