As a business they offer solutions across Residential, Commercial and Utility scale projects, with a focus on R&D and solution development. They currently have an opportunity for a highly experienced Solar Battery Systems Design Engineer to join their rapidly growing organisation, to drive commercial, industrial and utility scale solar/energy storage projects. This individual will be responsible for managing technical project requirements and performing technical due diligence for new commercial and utility scale solar and integrated energy storage opportunities. This position will work within established processes to communicate within the Sales, Engineering, Research, and EPC Departments. The Solar/Battery Systems Design Engineer position is responsible for ensuring compliance to technical standards, solar and energy storage system designs, DNSP Connection Applications, due diligence reports, assisting with project management, and developing technical specifications. Your Key Responsibilities: Delivery of design and materials required for Solar PV and Battery Storage systems to comply with relevant industry and WHS standards and meet deadlines required for project plans. Work with the drafting team to coordinate drawings to be created based on designs to meet deadlines required for project plans. Assist the Project Delivery Team to resolve technical issues encountered during installation and adjust designs and drawings accordingly, communicating with Project Managers, installers and customers as required. Mentor junior Engineers in best practice design processes, relevant industry standards, and company work practices and values. Design Solar Distribution boards compliant with Australian standards. Commissioning of solar inverters and testing secondary network grid relay protection devices. Support customers (solar installers) with design of domestic and commercial solar and energy storage systems using leading technologies. Analyse and design commercial PV solar and battery systems. Scoping works and providing quotes and proposals in conjunction with Business Development Managers. Liaise with installation teams and assist with overall management of commercial solar projects. Provide support for clients, installation teams and staff with technical related queries. Attend site inspections and assist with installation pricing and creating bill of quantities. Generate and submit network applications for commercial solar PV projects. Consult with sales and development teams and be actively involved in tender design with project managers as works go from concept through to commissioning. Assist with preparation of tender documents for commercial solar PV projects. Prepare System schematics and PV layouts including equipment design for DC and AC side. What you will bring to the role: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical). RPEQ accreditation. CEC accreditation design for PV and standalone. Proven capability in digital engineering and modelling tools (such as PowerCAD, AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Helioscope). Experience leading technical input into projects and working with major clients to Australian standards. Extensive knowledge on AS3000, AS3008, AS4777, AS5033, AS5139 standards. Experience with grid connected Inverters and Low Voltage systems. Efficient time management and track record of accomplishing project deadlines. Experience working in the Renewable Energy Industry. Technical PV solutions support experience. Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent writing skills, both creative and technical.
