Electrical Engineer Duration of Contract: 12 Months Role Responsibilities: Deliver electrical engineering services that meet statutory, regulatory, and project requirements, ensuring assignments are completed on time and within budget.Clarify project scope, identify scope changes, and ensure compliance with change management processes; participate in project reviews when necessary.Develop safe and sustainable engineering designs, considering constructability, operability, and maintainability.Identify and document Safety in Design risks throughout all project phases.Technical Expertise: Proficient in engineering design for LV/HV, instrumentation, and PLC electrical systems, including: Assessing site conditions and managing brownfield interfaces.Supporting the creation of P&IDs, electrical drawings (e.g., single-line diagrams, schematics, MCCs), and instrumentation layouts (e.g., loop diagrams, terminations).Expertise in LV electrical system design and calculations (e.g., circuit breaker ratings, trip settings, cable sizing, voltage drop, and maximum demand calculations).Basic design capabilities in: Lighting and earthing systems.System studies and protection coordination.Step and touch potential, arc flash hazard calculations.Creating VSD and protection setting files.Understanding MV/HV electrical circuits, arc flash risks, and mitigation strategies.Project Deliverables: Develop and manage deliverables, such as: Basis of Design documents.Equipment specifications or datasheets for instruments, motors, VSDs, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, transformers, and generators.Electrical and instrumentation installation scopes, testing, and commissioning documentation.Additional Skills: Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, DCS systems hardware and software.Experience with field instrumentation, verification, electrical construction, and commissioning.Knowledge of project phases and design requirements from concept through to execution.Ability to package work for workshare implementation and follow associated documentation procedures.What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with an electrical trade background.Extensive experience in detailed design for Electrical and Instrumentation systems, particularly in the refinery, mining, or similar industries.Proven experience in brownfield electrical system modifications (LV/MV/HV) and instrumentation.Hazardous Area Certification and Functional Safety Certification.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Power Tools for Windows.Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards.Ability to work independently, with excellent attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.Capable of managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity while working effectively in a small, on-site multidisciplinary team.Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships.Please apply through the below link or for more information on the position please contact Peter Verevis on 0401 783 576 and send through a copy of your CV to ******
