About The Role Based out of the Geelong office and reporting directly to the General Manager of Engineering, your responsibilities will include: Conceptual Design: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conceptualize and develop initial designs for hyperbaric chambers, considering functional requirements, safety standards, and user specifications Detailed Design and Analysis : Utilize expertise in mechanical engineering principles and relevant software to complete models and calculations to optimize chamber performance, structural integrity, and functionality Manufacturing Support : Collaborate with manufacturing teams to oversee the production of hyperbaric chambers, providing technical guidance, resolving design issues, and ensuring adherence to specifications Regulatory Compliance : Ensure that designs and manufacturing processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and standards for medical devices and pressure vessels Installation and Commissioning : Support the installation and commissioning of chambers at client sites, working closely with installation teams to ensure proper assembly, testing, and operational readiness Maintenance : Provide technical support to field service teams to assist in addressing inquiries and troubleshooting operational issues Documentation : Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, engineering drawings and bill of materials and for hyperbaric chambers About You As the ideal applicant, you will have: A tertiary qualification in Engineering. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) recognition by Engineers Australia. Minimum 8 years of senior-level experience as a mechanical engineer in a technical environment (e.g., controlled environments, mining, petrochemicals, medical, manufacturing). Experience in designing structures for pressure environments (pressure vessels), materials selection, stress analysis, and compliance with regulatory standards. Proficiency in fluid dynamics, including gas compression and ventilation systems. In-depth knowledge of Australian mechanical engineering standards and relevant software for modelling and drafting. Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
