We have an opportunity for a State Lead - Civil & Infrastructure Project Management to join the team in Melbourne. In this role you will be responsible for providing world class project management expertise to lead and facilitate project delivery.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role sits on the Civil and Infrastructure Project Management national leadership team. You will be responsible for leading and managing the state portfolio from both a strategic and project performance perspective as it relates to delivering Project Management services, across the portfolio of Civil & Infrastructure.
The Opportunity:
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
1. Provide leadership and specialist project management expertise from project inception to completion.
2. Ensure projects are scoped, designed, built and delivered on time, budget and to required quality specification.
3. Preparation of delivery strategies for major staged subdivision and other developments.
4. Facilitate, manage and drive efficiency through project cost plans in partnership with Development Managers, authorities, consultant and contractors to realise cost savings.
5. Achieve project construction milestones across multiple construction fronts in the State or Region’s project portfolio.
6. Demonstrate innovation to create time, financial and R&O benefit for the State or Region.
7. Manage and contribute to relationships with key stakeholder groups in collaboration with the Development Manager including the contractors, consultants, approval authorities – refer RACI model.
8. Establish partnering relationships with relevant external contractors, consultants and suppliers to facilitate cost, value and/or program efficiencies to Stockland.
9. Ensure the delivery of project management expertise is in a manner that creates a sustainable product and incorporates CR&S and HS&E principles.
10. Contribute to business wide project management forums, initiatives and programs to facilitate and lead a culture of best practice in Project Management systems and processes.
11. Ensure all Operational Risk processes are properly implemented within the area of responsibility.
12. Monitor project and team performance and ensure appropriate action is taken to address incidents and issues.
13. Ensure understanding of and performance consistent with applicable internal and external compliance and regulatory requirements as well as the internal escalation procedures.
About You:
1. Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar, and/or;
2. Extensive experience managing and leading teams (internal and external/direct and indirect), design, procurement and construction teams to proven successful outcomes in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
3. Proven ability to succeed in navigating and planning complex large project delivery.
4. Demonstrated commercial/financial acumen.
5. Proven understanding of project management best practice, tools and techniques.
6. Proven understanding of legal requirements and obligations in the administration of contracts.
7. Strong networks of consultant, authority and contractor stakeholders.
8. Operate as part of a broader C&I Leadership team with a National business focus, and drive improvement opportunities and initiatives.
9. Strong relationship management, communication and influencing skills.
