Our Water Planning team is currently seeking to appoint a Manager Surface Water Planning to Lead a team of water planners to amend and update surface water sharing plans and arrangements that are consistent with State and Federal water management legislation, government directions, obligations and commitments that support community and industry needs and requirements.
Lead and guide the planning framework for inland surface water planning to ensure that plans are based on the best available information, are consistent with legislative, state and federal policy and strategy, and incorporate an integrated, consistent approach to water planning.
Lead a team of water planners, overseeing all aspects of project development and implementation across a portfolio of complex projects, including preparing business cases and project plans, establishing appropriate governance, identifying, allocating and managing resources, and meeting reporting requirements, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and in line with DPE, Water project management methodology.
About the Role
4. Providing consistent, current and informed expert advice to government and non-government stakeholders, supporting effective surface water planning.
5. Embedding appropriate governance arrangements to ensure that surface water plans are statutorily sound, are based on the best available scientific information, and are accountable, implementable, measurable and enforceable.
6. Managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timeframes, given varying expectations, viewpoints and interests whilst balancing inter-dependencies between ground and surface water management.
Essential Requirements
7. Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, water management, planning and/or equivalent experience.
8. NSW Driver licence.
9. Overnight travel as required.
