We are seeking a candidate with a genuine interest to commence their career as a Plumber that will be based in Innisfail.
The successful candidate will have passion to work in this industry and be able to demonstrate a safety-first mindset & approach with a commitment to complete the full term of this 4 year apprenticeship.
Key Outcomes & Key Accountabilities:
* Work collaboratively under the direction of the Supervisor Water Reticulation and Plumbers in the Water section to primarily assist with a range of plumbing functions associated with safe and efficient delivery of water and services to customers.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance of all water and sewer infrastructure efficiently, safely and to quality professional standards for work including but not limited to:
o Water services & connections, Water reticulation pipework systems, Sewer mains, connections, sewer blockages, sewer system rehabilitation and repair, General plumbing and roofing associated with Council’s building assets.
o Ensure the security of materials supplied for jobs.
o Ensure secure, safe and proper operations of assigned tools, equipment and plant.
o Maintain records as required under Apprenticeship.
* Water and sewerage maintenance and construction activities completed efficiently, safely and to quality standards.
* Water and sewerage services meet our Customer Service standards.
* Plumbing activities for building maintenance are completed efficiently, safely and to quality standards.
Requirements:
* Work experience in manual trades or Certificate II in Plumbing is advantageous but not essential.
* Physically fit and able to undertake manual labouring tasks in tropical conditions.
* Communication skills for receiving technical instructions both written and verbal.
* Ability to undertake and complete formal studies associated with Apprenticeship.
* General Safety Construction Induction White Card (or willing to obtain).
* Ability to read plans and technical drawing (desirable).
* Ability to use hand and power tools (desirable).
* Drivers licence.
* Understand the importance of workplace health and safety.
* Ability to comply with drug and alcohol testing requirements, prior to commencement and during employment.
Who We Are?
Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout Queensland. We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen trade qualification.
