Our Workshop:
CDC NSW has 11 workshops across greater Sydney and the Hunter region. Our workshops are large, modern, and well-equipped with all up-to-date tools and equipment our teams need. Safety is our number one priority. Our equipment is well maintained, and we are proud to hold both our ISO 9001 (Quality) as well as ISO 55000 (Assets) standards.
We operate 7 days a week and allow for flexible rosters and shifts to suit all lifestyles. We offer the opportunity to work on a variety of makes and models including diesel products from Volvo, Scania, Iveco, and Mercedes right through to the latest in zero emission and electric buses.
About the role:
CDC NSW is seeking a Heavy vehicle mechanical trade apprentice (or a candidate interested in starting an apprenticeship) to learn from and assist our Workshop team to manage repairs and servicing on our extensive fleet of buses in Thornton.
With the support of our Workshop Team, you will learn to:
Maintain, service and repair CDC vehicles.
Operate workshop equipment safely.
Prepare vehicles for inspection.
Identify, control and report workplace hazards.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe workshop.
Ensure that all vehicles are presented professionally for in-service use.
Liaise with Workshop Supervisors about job status and workshop priorities.
Perform an on-call/after-hours breakdown service.
About You:
Basic computer literacy
Ability to work unsupervised, show initiative and self-motivation
Effective communication skills at all levels
Current driver's license
An MR license will be well regarded
