We are seeking a creative and motivated Chef for our kitchen. You must have confidence and experience preparing Australian meals and a genuine passion for our industry. This is a hands-on role requiring great leadership qualities, the ability to work individually as well as being a leader to a small kitchen team.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
* Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
* Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
* Overseeing all kitchen operations.
* Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
* Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
* Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
* Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
* Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
* Keeping up to date with industry trends.
* Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Full Australian Working Rights
* Formal relevant qualification in Certificate IV level or above
* Sound understanding of food safety and health regulations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Great leadership abilities
* Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
* Team Player
* A genuine passion for the industry
* Ability to think creatively and produce high quality menu items
* Ability to mentor junior kitchen staff in correct kitchen procedures
