Role Overview
This role is for a proactive and highly competent individual with a can-do attitude to join our team as a Production Assistant. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-growing company with a small, welcoming, and supportive team. The successful candidate will support the production process, assist with suppliers, aid procurement, and contribute to the timely delivery of orders.
Responsibilities
Production process
Support the Production team by:
* Contributing to the production process, working to schedules and timelines.
* Supporting development, sampling, and production for major accounts in the government sector and airlines.
* Supporting production with warehouse supervisor and production staff.
* Facilitating local and offshore production is cost-effective and runs on time.
* Contributing in the coordination of local production processes and raising offshore production orders.
* Assisting with liaison with freight forwarders and handling fabric and accessory ordering.
Purchasing and Supply Chain
Support the Production team with:
* Raising and sending purchase orders for goods and services from suppliers.
* Assisting in the liaison with customers and suppliers for order issues and confirmations.
* Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance and stock levels.
* Requesting price and availability from new and existing suppliers.
* Maintaining master data and purchasing information records.
* Reviewing requisitions for indent products and advising on production plan issues.
* Expediting local and international purchase orders and maintaining shipping dates.
General Administration
Support the Production team with:
* Coordinating with various stakeholders including suppliers, makers, customers, and sales representatives.
* Assisting in new product development by liaising with the customer’s product development team.
* Managing invoices related to production and development, coding and passing them to the accounts department.
* Reading and collating information from new tender and customer briefs to initiate the development process.
* Supporting national warehouses and sales managers with various tasks including weekly, monthly and yearly reports and stocktakes.
* Assisting with compliance for the organisation by ensuring adherence to industry standards, as well as liaising with certifiers, factory auditors, and unions.
* Ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar production/quality control/garment technician role.
* Basic understanding of import-export logistics processes
* Fluency in Mandarin is preferable (Not essential)
* Garment construction knowledge and fashion/textile certification preferable
* Experience in supplier management and procurement
* Strong organisational, interpersonal and prioritisation skills.
* Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
* Attention to detail and willingness to learn
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
