Position Overview: As a Mobile Plant and Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Maintainer, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of a range of mining equipment and machinery, including excavators, loaders, haul trucks, dozers, and more. The role will involve both workshop-based and on-site maintenance, ensuring equipment is in optimal working condition to keep mining operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on a variety of mobile plant and heavy vehicles. Attend to breakdowns and provide onsite support as required. Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. Collaborate with workshop and field teams to maintain a high level of operational efficiency. Complete necessary paperwork, including maintenance logs and service reports. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on mining equipment. Assist with parts inventory management and equipment servicing as required. Skills & Experience Required: Trade qualification in Mobile Plant or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Auto Electronics, Fabrication (or equivalent). Experience working with mining equipment, mobile plant, and heavy vehicles (haul trucks, excavators, loaders, etc.). Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in both workshop and remote site environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team. Current driver’s license (manual preferred). A commitment to safety and compliance with all safety standards and procedures. Desirable: Experience in the mining industry or a similar heavy-duty environment. Previous work on CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr, Hitachi, or similar brands. Ability to work on a fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster or residential arrangements (depending on location).
