Gladstone Hospital is a 79-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, neonatal nursery, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.
Gladstone Hospital has approximately 282 full time equivalent staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care.
About the role:The Speech Pathologist works as a member of the Gladstone and Banana Allied Health Team(s) providing comprehensive, effective and efficient Speech Pathology services to stakeholders/customers of CQ Health.
Services provided are of a varied caseload complexity, spanning the continuum of care that includes service provision to patients/clients within inpatient, outpatient and community clinical settings.
Assess, diagnose and treat patients within well-established clinical and departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice principles and effective risk management strategies.Enhance clinical practice and leadership knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning and professional development activities including, but not limited to, supervision and/or mentoring.In collaboration with the Gladstone and Banana Senior Speech Pathologist(s), Gladstone / Banana Allied Health Clinical Network Director and CQ Health Speech Pathology/Allied Health Professional Leads, review departmental service standards, operational processes and outcomes.About you:Possession of a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology from a recognised tertiary institution is mandatory for this position.The successful applicant must demonstrate eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (certified practicing membership with Speech Pathology Australia is desirable).Overseas qualified applicants require a "certification of eligibility" letter from Speech Pathology Australia to be included in their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.What we offer:Total remuneration value of up to $106,053 p.a.
