About us: Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics.
As a Chef your responsibilities will include:
o Maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels of food preparation area and kitchen equipment
o Cook Meal and food preparation for patients as per recipe guide
o Menu planning
o Maintain food stock levels and undertake ordering as required
o Maintain regular daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers as per food safety standards
o Implement & maintain the Food Safety Program
o Liaise with management, dietitians and staff on specific patient requirements & issues
o Lead, supervise, coach and develop team members to deliver exceptional service
Selection Criteria:
o Hold a Diploma of Commercial cookery (Highly Desirable)
o Hold a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
o Demonstrated prior experience in a similar role of 3+ years
o Prior experience in a healthcare or Aged Care setting would be an advantage
o Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
o Knowledge of menu planning, stock control & diet code adjustments
o Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team
o Highly organised, efficient and effective
o Available for shifts over a 7-day roster including early/late shifts and weekend work

If you are successful in the role: You will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope – NSW Health Professionals & Support Services - Agreement 2023, with a salary ranging from $32.22 – 33.29 per hour.
