About the Company
The Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility is a development financier that was established by the Federal Government in order to provide financial support to advance the development of infrastructure projects in northern Australia. NAIF provides loans, which may be concessional, to encourage and complement private and public sector investment in economic infrastructure.
NAIF is passionate about making a difference to the local economy by funding the construction of facilities or facility upgrades that will boost employment in the region. NAIF is well established and has now made commitments of across North Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
About the Role
As the Senior Director, People and Culture (SDPC), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading NAIF’s People and Culture strategy and Work Health and Safety initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will collaborate with senior executives to align HR policies with organisational goals, ensuring NAIF attracts, retains, and nurtures top talent to drive business success.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing a wide range of P&C functions—from hiring, performance management, and compliance to developing strategic partnerships and fostering a healthy, inclusive workplace culture. You’ll lead initiatives that drive organisational development, workforce planning, and risk management while championing NAIF’s core values of integrity, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a forward-thinking people and culture strategy in line with NAIF’s overall business objectives.
* Lead P&C operations including WHS, talent acquisition, training, performance management, and employee relations.
* Provide strategic advice to the CEO and collaborate with the People and Remuneration Committee to influence HR and safety policy.
* Design and implement workforce planning and succession strategies to ensure NAIF is prepared for future challenges.
* Drive development in WHS understanding, ensuring reporting, compliance and a strong safety culture.
* Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment that embodies NAIF’s mission and values.
About You
You are a strategic, people-focused leader with a passion for driving organisational growth through innovative HR and safety initiatives. You will have:
* Extensive experience in senior HR roles, leading generalist HR strategies and initiatives.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
* Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
* Strong knowledge of HR legislation and WHS compliance, with a track record of successful implementation.
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or significant experience in HR management.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HR databases and systems.
