Are you passionate about making a real difference in the mental health space? Open Minds is looking for an energetic Project Officer to lead our exciting new Distress Brief Support (DBS) Trial, a 12-month full-time max-term opportunity based in Ipswich.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the DBS trial, a community-based mental health initiative focusing on providing compassionate, non-clinical support to individuals in psychological distress. The Distress Brief Support trial is a program designed to provide practical solutions for managing distress and connecting participants to longer-term recovery services.
Working closely with the West Morton PHN, you’ll use your project management expertise to co-design and deliver a service that addresses the needs of these communities. You’ll also collaborate with our incredible Medicare Mental Health (formally known as Head to Health) team, consisting of Wellbeing Coordinators, Mental Health Clinicians, Intake & Assessment Officers and Clinical Leads, who are deeply passionate about enabling community connections and delivering impactful support.

What We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, community services, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in managing complex projects, preferably in the mental health or community services sector.
You’ve got a track record of working effectively with community and health service providers.
You’re committed to improving the lives of people in distress, especially from priority groups like Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and more.
