SDD-Trusted and Secure Program aims to enhance DTP’s cyber security posture to meet modern security threats and challenges, and to ensure compliance with departmental Audit and regulatory requirements by delivering various security programs/initiatives. The team comprises of project resource disciplines across Program/Project Management, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, Test Management, Change Management and Audit Management.

The Network Specialist will play a pivotal role in leading the collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including key partners such as DTP, Cenitex, Unisys, and other relevant entities. Their primary responsibility will be to interpret and address network requirements, ensuring seamless communication and coordination among all parties involved. This role includes overseeing the installation and implementation of SD-WAN technology, which is critical for securely connecting users to applications across the network. The specialist will ensure that all network solutions meet security standards and performance benchmarks, facilitating efficient and reliable access to applications for all users.
We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in SD-WAN and network technologies, strong stakeholder management, and proven leadership in driving innovation and business continuity. The ideal candidate will have experience in fostering collaboration, managing cross-functional teams, and integrating digital solutions, along with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities.
Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
• Achieve seamless deployment of SD-WAN across the network, ensuring that all sites are connected securely and efficiently. This includes planning, executing, and validating the installation processes.
• Ensure that the network infrastructure is robust and secure, meeting the highest standards of performance. This involves regular monitoring, threat detection, and mitigation strategies to protect against potential security breaches.
• Securely connect users to applications, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience. This includes addressing connectivity issues promptly and optimizing network paths for better performance.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs and requirements are met. This includes regular updates, feedback sessions, and proactive problem-solving.
• Conduct and lead site visits to oversee the physical installation of SD-WAN, providing expert guidance and ensuring installations are completed to the highest standards.
• Implement a process for continuous improvement of the network infrastructure, adapting to new technologies and evolving business requirements. This includes staying up-to-date with industry trends and integrating new solutions as necessary.
• Develop and maintain a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving network issues. This includes establishing protocols for rapid response and minimizing downtime to ensure network reliability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and performance metrics. Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, issues, and areas for improvement.
• In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
• Experience with SD-WAN technology.
• Proven track record of successfully deploying and managing SD-WAN solutions.
Desirable
• Experience in a similar role within a large organization or network environment.
• Relevant certifications in network technologies and SD-WAN
