About the Role
Due to the growth of our Day Options program, there are multiple casual roles available at our metropolitan sites with shifts being offered throughout the week. This role provides an opportunity to engage in a variety of activities with our clients, focusing on assisting and empowering them to achieve their goals and develop new skills within a supportive, positive, and fun environment.
Other key responsibilities include:
5. Provide 1:1 or 1:3 support
6. Support clients to achieve their NDIS goals
7. Complete progress and incident reports
8. Work with clients to promote individual choice and control
9. Provide transport to clients using a Bedford pool car
10. Maintain a duty of care for clients, other staff, and yourself
About You
You will be an experienced and qualified support worker with knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct and Quality and Safeguarding Framework. You will be enthusiastic, energetic and have a person-centred approach, as well as a genuine passion for working with people with disability to help them achieve their goals and build new skills so they can live the life they choose. As a bonus, you may have the opportunity to share a hobby, skill, or passion of yours with our clients, contributing to the success of our growing Day Options program.
Other knowledge, skills and attributes include:
11. Minimum Cert III in Disability (or equivalent)
12. Current First Aid and CPR certification
13. Strong written and verbal skills
14. A positive focus to ‘do with and not for’ to empower our clients
For this role, the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford.
15. A National Police Clearance (no older than six months old)
16. Driver’s licence
17. NDIS worker screening clearance, or other NDIS approved clearance to work in the disability sector
18. Evidence of right to work in Australia
19. 100 points of identification
