The Opportunity
We are looking for a fit and passionate Aquatic and Recreation Officer to join our dynamic Leisure Centre Team.
Excel in your career as you tackle challenges unique to the East Kimberley, working together with people from all walks of life and become part of this vibrant team that is making a real difference in the East Kimberley.
In this position, you will be a member of the Leisure Centre Team ensuring a high level of aquatic and other fitness services are provided to the public.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting water sampling tests of all pools and plant room adjustments to ensure water quality complies with WA Health Department standards;Ensuring that the pool circulation and filtration systems are operating correctly and plant rooms are clean and free of hazards;Conducting maintenance tasks and, where necessary, reporting required maintenance to relevant staff;Coordinating the setup and removal of equipment, as well as cleaning, when required for bookings, recreation programs and events;Operating plant, equipment, appropriate devices and protective equipment in accordance with demonstrated safety procedures and provided instruction;Providing effective supervision of all patrons and casual staff and ensuring workplace safety and general safety standards are maintained;Administering first aid where required and in line with current qualifications;Performing reception and administrative duties and attending to customer complaints (ensuring a high level of customer service is provided at all times);Ensuring all activities are run with a high level of risk analysis and risk management;Promoting the Kununurra Leisure Centre and Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley in a positive manner at all times.A current Provide First Aid, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and Chlorine Gas, WA Swimming Pool Operations Group 1 Certificate, WA Pool Lifeguard qualifications, Current Work with Children Check and Current unrestricted WA "C" Class Driver's Licence are essential for this role.
You will also need demonstrated communication and customer service skills, demonstrated time management skills, knowledge and experience with computer operations and administrative tasks.

Salary and Benefits
Working for SWEK means that in addition to the competitive annual remuneration package between $88,000 - $92,000 (inclusive of allowances and superannuation, dependent on skills and experience), you may also enjoy a range of benefits including:
