Georges River Libraries are recruiting for a motivated Library Officer Programs, who demonstrates excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a community-minded approach to programming.
As part of our high performing Library Programs team, you will be responsible for planning, developing and promoting programs and events that reflect and enhance the informational, cultural, recreational and educational needs of our diverse local community.
Our adult programming extends from innovative creative and STEAM workshops that activate our Digital Media Lab, Sound Booth, digital tools and musical instrument collections, through to community capacity building workshops that increase lifelong literacy, social connection and digital participation.
This role is primarily based at Clive James Library, Kogarah, and will involve other locations as required.
What We Offer
1. Permanent Full-time - 70 hours per fortnight
2. Salary range: $73,331.53 - $84,965.51 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation (dependent on the skills, qualifications, and relevant experience of the suitable candidate)

Key Accountabilities
1. Undertake rostered duties at all Georges River Libraries to meet customer expectations
2. Provide support and instructional training to staff and customers in the use of library software, self-service kiosks, public computers, photocopiers and printers
3. Deliver and promote library and information services that meet the diverse needs and interests of the community encouraging the development of literacy, creativity and lifelong learning
4. Plan, develop, promote and deliver library and information services, programs and events that reflect and enhance the informational, cultural, recreational and educational needs of the local community
5. Maintain awareness of current trends, issues and new technologies to ensure services and programs remain relevant to the target audience
6. Deliver targeted community outreach to key priority groups as determined by the Outreach Program promoting library services to the broader community
7. Contribute to the promotion of programs, services and events through in-house publications, the web, and other promotional opportunities; implement the Library's style guide; liaise with Council's Media Unit
What We Are Looking For
1. TAFE Diploma qualification in Library and Information Science and/or equivalent library experience
2. Demonstrated experience in library and information services
3. Demonstrated experience in implementing, promoting, delivering effective and relevant library services, programs and events to a diverse community encouraging literacy, creativity, and lifelong learning
4. Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication including summarising data, preparing reports and providing training
5. High level customer focused approach to service delivery
6. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
7. Demonstrated interest and experience in the application of technology for the delivery of high-level library services
8. Demonstrated interest and experience in community capacity building while delivering high-level library services
9. Certificate IV in training
10. Working with children check
