About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Senior Therapist to provide mentoring, guidance and support to fellow therapists within the Sexual Assault Counselling Service team.
* Full time position.
* Role is government funded until 30 June 2026 with possible extension.
* Level 7 under the SCHCADS Award. Salary range is $115,066 - $119,872 + Super.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide trauma informed, developmentally sensitive and culturally safe counselling and support to children and young people who have experienced unwanted sexual contact and/or to address harmful sexual behaviours.
* Identify and work toward client goals and achieve successful case outcomes for clients.
* Facilitate and participate in case reviews and other case discussions as required.
About You
* Tertiary degree qualifications in a relevant discipline (psychology, social work, counselling, allied health).
* Registration with the appropriate Board under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* At least three (3) years’ experience working with children, young people and their families in similar roles.
* Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
Other Requirements
* Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
* Current driver’s licence.
* Legally able to work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
