We act for humanity.About the roleRed Cross Emergency Services supports individuals and communities before, during, and after emergencies. The team’s work supports communities, groups, and individuals to prepare for emergencies as well as assisting with response and disaster recovery.In this role, you will operate within a community development framework, representing Red Cross across diverse networks in the emergency management and community services sectors. You’ll engage with key stakeholders, applying your advocacy skills to ensure the needs of the most vulnerable are prioritised before, during, and after disasters.You will identify community needs and create engagement opportunities to build the capacity of individuals and communities to anticipate, respond to, and recover from crises. Additionally, this role is crucial in developing local volunteer capabilities through mentorship and support, enhancing the skills and preparedness of those in the region.As a key ambassador for Red Cross, you will actively showcase the organisation’s impact across the region, strengthening Red Cross’s presence and fostering community trust.What you will bringDemonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and building partnershipsExperience in emergency management, project management, or community engagement and/or community developmentStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to a range of audiencesExperience with volunteer engagement and management ideally in an emergency management or community development contextSound proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applicationsRelevant four-year degree with one-year relevant experience or three-year degree with two years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experienceWorking with Children Check (Blue Card)Benefits that act for you, while you act for humanityFinancial wellbeing: In addition to your salary, you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
