An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the Boortmalt Australia team as a Maintenance Fitter. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at our Delacombe Plant.
As an integral member of the Maintenance team, you will be responsible for fault finding and proactively repairing machinery as well as preventative maintenance to deliver optimal operational reliability, performance and safety. There will also be a requirement to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement. As Maintenance Fitter, your main tasks/responsibilities would be as detailed below.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Preventative maintenance and servicing of all production equipment
* Fault finding
* Repair of production machinery parts, replacement of production machinery parts
* Maintenance of all machinery
* Complete preventative maintenance and reactive worksheets from Maintenance Scheduling Program
* Attend breakdowns when required out of hours on a rotational basis with standard shifts of 7.6 hours varying over the core hours of 6 am to 6 pm
* Adhere to work and safety instruction and take an active role in contributing to building a safety culture
* Adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management
Qualifications:
* Fitter, Fitter and Turner or Fitter/Machinist Qualifications
* Confined Space Entry
* Elevated Work Platform (desirable)
* Food Manufacturing knowledge or relevant industry experience
Skills & Knowledge:
* Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in an industrial/production/facility maintenance environment
* Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance issues
* Competent Welding skills including Mig and Tig
* Planning, organisation and problem solving skills
* Strong technical aptitude
* Reliable, motivated and punctual
* Have a strong work ethic
* Be physically fit and healthy for work
* Proven ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to work under limited supervision and independently
* Knowledge of materials handling equipment for grain
* Experience with fans, pumps and related equipment
* Competent in shaft and coupling alignment techniques and in bearing, pulley, gear and sprocket replacements
* Basic computing skills
Familiarity with the requirements of working in a food production environment would also be well regarded.
