Job Summary
The Local Area Coordinator will manage and deliver Partner in the Community Local Area Coordination services within the Brotherhood of St Laurence Disability Services Portfolio.
This role is pivotal to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and involves assisting people with disability to advocate, plan, organise and access the support and services needed to live an ordinary life.
The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications, lived experience with disability or awareness of its impact, and highly developed communication, listening and relationship building skills.
About You
* Relevant qualifications in fields such as Disability, Allied Health, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education, Community Services and/or
* Lived experience with disability or awareness of the impact of existing or acquired disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community
* Highly developed communication, listening and relationship building skills
* Experience in working alongside community towards common goals
* Confidence using a variety of computer programs and equipment and ability to enter information accurately
