The Victorian Government is seeking part-time board directors to join the TAFE Boards across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
About the Role
As a board director, you will play a critical leadership and governance role in implementing and extending the skills legacy of our state. You will contribute to shaping the future of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Victoria, supporting growth and productivity for the state by delivering high-quality skills that meet emerging needs.
Key Responsibilities
* CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP:
o Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure effective decision-making and implementation of VET policies and initiatives.
* HIGHER EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING:
o Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the quality and relevance of VET programs and services.
* FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
o Oversee the financial management and reporting of TAFE institutes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
* STRATEGIC THINKING AND INNOVATION:
o Promote innovation and excellence in VET, identifying opportunities to improve student outcomes and industry engagement.
* COMMUNITY AND INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT:
o Foster strong relationships with local communities, industry partners, and other stakeholders to ensure TAFE Institutes remain responsive to their needs.
* STRATEGIC RISK MANAGEMENT AND AUDIT:
o Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the delivery of VET programs and services, ensuring the highest standards of governance and accountability.
Requirements
We are seeking individuals with skills, knowledge, and experience in corporate governance, higher education, financial management, strategic thinking, community engagement, and risk management.
