About the role:
You will support management and site leaders with all work health and safety administrative duties to enable the implementation of an effective WHS Management System. This includes completing associated tasks at a site level in order to reduce risks to our workers and to provide a workplace that is as safe as is reasonably practicable.
The role will be responsible for reporting on progress towards implementation, actions and for reporting incident data, incident types, updates to National Head Office on a monthly basis. Information provided by Safety Officer will be included in regular risk reports and board reports where the National Safety Manager sees the need.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of Health & Safety within our growing business and in turn, build your skillset and gain further experience within Health & Safety.
Duties performed will include:
* Conduct risk assessments inclusive of mobile plant, manual handling, plant and equipment, emergency management, chemical management, etc.
* Ensure site Risk Registers remain up to date with data collection
* Participate in workplace inspections with site management and ensure actions are reported in the action register. Assist as required to close out action
* Attending WHS Committee meetings, taking minutes, and distributing them for future meetings
* Assist the National Safety Manager in conducting WHS System Compliance Audits
* Support management and site leaders in implementing a contractor WHS management process to ensure that all contractors have the necessary insurance, safe systems of work, and competencies to work on our sites
* Generate RTW Plans for injured workers inclusive of the provision of suitable duties with the assistance of management and site leaders
* Assist the National Safety Manager with the Injury Management (IM) Program in accordance with IM legislative requirements
About You:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:
* 2+ years’ work experience in WHS/Injury Management
* Cert IV in Work Health & Safety
* Have a good understanding of Work Health and Safety Laws in states where Lynch Group operates (NSW/WA/QLD/VIC)
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Thorough understanding of incident reporting and investigation processes
* Confidence and ability to communicate with people at all levels across the business
* High level of emotional intelligence
* Ability to travel between our sites if required
* FMCG industry experience ideal but not crucial
