Job Title: Lead Electrical EngineerLocation: Perth,WASalary: $250,000 - $300,000 plus super About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join our design team, focusing on mineral processing projects for iron, copper, and other mineral processing operations. This role is ideal for an engineer experienced in leading and coordinating electrical design on complex mining projects, including remote wet plant setups and upgrades. As a lead engineer, you'll drive project success by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions from detailed design and technical documentation to full-scale studies. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership: Manage and lead electrical engineering efforts on iron, copper, and mineral processing projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and technical specifications. Technical Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control (E, I&C) systems for the design, development, and implementation of complex mining and mineral processing solutions. Design Coordination: Oversee schematic development, LV MCC design, protection coordination, and detailed plans using PowerCAD, tailored for challenging wet plant environments. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare high-quality technical reports and schematic designs, conveying electrical engineering requirements clearly to internal teams and clients. Client Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor, providing specialized guidance on greenfield and brownfield projects for iron and copper processing facilities, ensuring efficient and compliant solutions. Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs align with relevant safety and industry standards, prioritizing operational reliability and safety. Mentorship: Support junior engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment. Key Requirements Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Industry Experience: At least (5-10) years of electrical engineering experience within the mining or mineral processing sectors, with specific exposure to iron, copper, and wet plant projects. Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge in design, protection coordination, and schematic development. Proficiency with CAD design and other design software Experience with the project lifecycle of greenfield and brownfield developments. Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to produce technical documentation and clearly communicate project requirements to multidisciplinary teams. Client Focus: Proven track record of providing specialized advice and building strong relationships with clients in the iron, copper, and mineral sectors.
