Job DescriptionA Social Visits Volunteer who can make a meaningful difference - One visit at a time! Are you someone who enjoys a good chat, a peaceful garden view, or getting lost in a puzzle or piece of art? We're looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to visit a thoughtful gentleman who's feeling a bit lonely since the passing of his wife last year.
Once a passionate builder of model aircraft and toy steam trains, he now finds joy in simple pleasures - puzzle books, art, and admiring his garden (though it's in need of a little love).
Your time and company could make a world of difference.
A friendly visit, a shared story, or a chat over a cuppa could truly lift his spirits. Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself.
Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
RequirementsWe'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
