Breakthrough Haematology is a Clinical Haematology medical practice dedicated to providing patient focused treatments to people with blood cancers and disorders.Role DescriptionPart time (three/four days a week) position responsible for providing high level administrative support and co-ordination to the clinical care team.Your responsibilities will include:Undertake the meticulous data entry and management of all patient information required for clinics and treatments, including personal details, referrals, appointments, medical tests and imaging and hospital bookings with accuracy and efficiency using Genie, Charm and other communication channels as directed.Answer the telephone, respond appropriately to patient queries and situations.Monitor, action and follow up incoming and outgoing correspondence received via electronic fax, Genie software and other communication channels.Manage outpatient clinics, including meet and greet for in person attendance, video audio visual checks for virtual waiting room, arranging follow up medical bookings for the patients as directed, processing payments and transmitting outgoing patient correspondence using Genie and other electronic software.Process payments and healthcare claims with medicare and health funds and follow up unpaid accounts with patients, medicare and health funds.Be able to demonstrate a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients and relatives in view of the delicate nature of their diagnosis.Other duties as directed from time to time.We will provide:Tailored in house training to help you thrive in the role.A positive high quality office environment.Access to daily reduced fee staff parking on site.ExperienceThis role requires a team player who enjoys working autonomously and across all levels of the practice.In-house training is provided, but ideally you will have:Previous experience in a hospital clerical or nursing role highly desirable.Previous experience in a senior medical secretary or practice manager role highly desirable.Experience using Charm an advantage.Excellent organisation and time management skills, with high level computer literacy.Experience liaising with GPs, Specialists, Radiology providers, Pathology providers, Allied Health Professionals, Insurance Companies, Health Funds and other relevant parties an advantage.Excellent communication skills and ability to remain even-tempered and professional at all times.A reliable, flexible and supportive team member.ApplyApply now to work in our established practice and join our team.
