Let’s talk about the team:
Responsible for managing the global end-to-end intercompany accounting, reporting process and systems. This includes participating in the Corporate Accounting team’s preparation and review of the global consolidation. You will also be involved in preparing and/or reviewing all intercompany transactions and contributing to the design of global policies, processes, and systems associated with them. Ensures that intercompany processes and systems are continuously operating as planned as well as having an ongoing focus on enhancements and improvements.
You will partner closely and constantly with ResMed’s Global Tax team to ensure adherence to various intercompany contracts and policies.
The position is a global finance role covering global activities with extensive interaction with our accounting and tax teams who are located around the world with concentrations in the US and Australia. As such strong communication and collaboration skills are needed to effectively liaise with a variety of finance teams, departments, stakeholders, and internal and external auditors. This level of responsibility requires a high degree of diligence and proactive mindset to be demonstrated on a regular basis. International and domestic travel may be required.
There is a significant transformation project underway to redesign and automate many of our intercompany transactions, which is expected to substantially go live towards the end of calendar year 2024. As a result, the learning curve and workload may be higher until the project is complete and the new system is stabilized.
This role will initially report into VP, Corporate Accounting and over time will most likely transition to the Corporate Controller. Under both of these reporting options, the role remains part of the Corporate Accounting team. This team promotes a flexible work environment, particularly during off-peak periods such as outside of the quarter and year ends. The team is predominantly located in the Sydney office with a smaller presence in San Diego and Malaysia. As this team is spread across multiple geographies, we do not mandate team members to attend ResMed offices but rather leave it up to each individual to decide.
This role can be based in either Sydney or on the West Coast of the United States (Pacific Standard Time). Given this role works closely with teams in Sydney and San Diego, this would require earlier morning calls when based in Sydney or evening calls if based in the United States.

Intercompany Transformation Project
1. ResMed is completing an Intercompany Transformation Project where we are automating many of our intercompany transactions in Oracle’s Profitability and Cost Management module of EPM (referred to internally as ICPCM). This technology is frequently ranked in Gartner’s highest quadrant making this an exciting opportunity to learn, adopt and deploy leading technology.
2. This role will act as the point person in maintaining, reviewing and validating the output of these automated calculations as part of the implementation and after the system Go Live, which is expected in late calendar year 2024. These calculations may require validation and confirmation with a range of different stakeholders, which would be expected to take place at peak times such as at the end of the quarter and year.
Intercompany future state process
3. Partner with the Global Process Owners to continually evaluate and redesign a future state process.
4. Act as the ICPCM champion for understanding ICPCM design and explaining to others where needed.
5. Partner with ResMed business stakeholders to identify technical issues and communicate system issues to technical teams involved in the maintenance of ICPCM.
6. Provide functional lens into requirements needed for ICPCM configuration (Legal Entity Forecast design, Intercompany calculation design, Transfer Pricing benchmarks) to assist ICPCM Systems Tech Administrator as needed in updates to configuration and integration designs
7. Provide training to new users and also existing users when new functionality is introduced.
8. Management of user administration, security role validation, and access requests for ICPCM.
9. Development and design of new reports and calculations. Maintenance of existing calculations.
10. Partners with internal IT team for ongoing design of new integrations and functionality within ICPCM for continuous improvement
11. Partners with the internal IT team, Finance Systems team, external managed services team and Oracle to update and communicate environment maintenance schedules, refresh schedules, and outages. Furthermore, partner with these teams to complete functional testing following any patches, updates or reporting reconfigurations.
12. Preparation of policies and procedures for system/data management
13. Maintenance of training materials and intranet site.
Intercompany “Business As Usual” Transactions
14. Runs the legal entity forecast and monitors the intercompany calculation monthly workflows.
15. This role is responsible for advising on the accounting transactions to be recorded for a variety of transactions that may arise such as the following:Intercompany royalty arrangementsIntercompany dividend flowsThe merging or closure of certain legal entitiesIntercompany rechargesIntercompany loan arrangementsIntercompany profit adjustments
16. Management of internal and external queries for audits. This involves preparing SOX support required by auditors.
17. Providing ongoing support to the Global Tax team on queries that may arise as part of income tax audits.
18. Reviewing intercompany balances in the monthly consolidation to ensure transactions have been recorded correctly and are appropriately eliminated.
19. Amends key intercompany policies and procedures as required.

20. Ability to communicate accounting matters in a simple manner to non-finance professionals as well as excellent written communication skills
21. Ability to work with a large number of geographically diverse teams and resources requiring sensitivity to different business cultures, languages, and accounting knowledge.
22. Compiling and reviewing information from different sources including numerous systems and countries while still ensuring the information is consistent, reliable, and accurate.
23. Experience with understanding and reviewing an extensive multi-currency financial consolidation.
24. Experience with advanced consolidation and elimination topics.
25. Ability to appropriately prioritize and execute tasks to ensure timelines are met.
26. Prior experience with Oracle or Oracle-products preferred or strong aptitude with systems.
27. Ability to understand and streamline reporting processes.
28. A high proficiency in Microsoft excel, word, PowerPoint as well as the ability to learn new software and tools.
29. Working to strict internal and external deadlines on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually). In a reporting period that has significant activity where long work hours may be required.
30. Flexibility to respond to unplanned requests that require soon to immediate responses. The increasing size and complexity of the global ResMed business can result in resourcing constraints that must be managed through astute work prioritization.
31. Requires a minimum Bachelor in Accounting or related field
32. Requires a Current CA/CPA certification
33. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience with a preference for public accounting or corporate accounting experience
34. Experience in complex and multi-currency consolidation and reporting processes
35. Applies acquired expertise and exercises judgment to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent.
