The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process. ABOUT THE ROLE In this role, you will be responsible for the clinical and professional development of occupational therapists and the co-ordination of occupational therapy services within the adult and aged community programs. You will maintain clinical occupational therapy standards within adult and aged community programs and promote and develop occupational therapy informed interventions, research and evaluation. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Demonstrated leadership in OT practice within public mental health services Extensive supervision experience and capacity to foster ongoing professional development and standards of care Extensive clinical experience and ability to work collaboratively with people with mental health disorders and their families Ability to innovate and support discipline specific perspectives and contemporary practice in clinical care systems Practice knowledge of application of mental health legislation and current policies Ability to provide and ensure the provision of secondary and tertiary consultation to other areas of Alfred Health and community services Ability to generate ideas, create learning programs and facilitate learning opportunities/professional development with clinical mental staff Knowledge of relevant legislation such as The Mental Health and Wellbeing Act and The Children, Youth and Families Act incorporating the child information sharing scheme and any other relevant legislation QUALIFICATIONS Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA to practice with the National Board Minimum of seven to ten years post graduate clinical experience is desirable Post graduate qualifications or working towards post-graduate qualifications BENEFITS Great employment benefits as part of Alfred Health - Wellbeing initiatives, car parking (subject to availability), onsite gym, childcare services, access to salary packaging, novated leasing and discounted health insurance and banking Located close to public transport and cafes If this opportunity sounds like it is for you, click the APPLY button, include your resume and cover letter.
