About the Role
Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking an Mechanical Fitter with various skills and a great attitude to complete maintenance on water and waste water equipmentJoin a small local team, for a large national company, providing essential services for the community by maintaining and upgrading water and wastewater infrastructure across the Central Highlands, and Western region.This opportunity would suit experienced maintenance fitters, with exposure to pumps, drive systems and with fabrication capabilities.If you are a self starter, can work autonomously, or in a team, and enjoy doing interesting and innovative work to the highest quality, then this may be the job for you.Sewer maintenance, all weather work, and participation in an on call roster are all requirements of the position with the potential for overtime Nature of position: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Ballarat VIC Reporting Line: Works Co-ordinator Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance of Water and Wastewater Mechanical Infrastructure;
2. Visit clients sites and check mechanical infrastructure for operability
3. Visit clients sites and perform routine and preventative maintenance
4. Visit client sites and conduct reactive/breakdown maintenance of water and wastewater mechanical infrastructure
5. Scheduled on call/after hours response
6. Complete inspection reports and photos, recommendation of repairs
7. Accurately complete timesheets
HSEQ
8. Ensure quality of work and provide feedback to the work group Promote and lead the use and evolution of Service Stream’s HSEQ systems and their integration into day to day management;
9. Promote and lead a culture of safety and wellbeing for Service Streams employees and subcontractors;
10. Ensure the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 (or relevant updates) are implemented and maintained.
11. Comply with Risk Management, Quality assurance and HSEQ Management systems, including statutory obligations;
12. Initiate and/or follow actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in processes or systems;
13. Identify, initiate, recommend and assist in the issue resolution process;
14. Promote positive HSEQ culture in the workplace;
15. Ensure all vehicle, plant and equipment complies with all HSEQ related policies and regulations

16. 5+ years in a similar role
17. Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or similar;
18. Working from Heights Accreditations preferred;
19. Confined Space Accreditation preferred;
20. Elevated Work Platform preferred;
21. Heavy Rigid license preferred
22. Industrial mechanical and control systems
23. Asset maintenance including pumps and infrastructure
24. Fault Finding / problem solving
25. Welding and fabrication advantageous
26. Commissioning
