Council is seeking a motivated professional with suitable qualifications and experience to join our Environmental Management team and implement best practice management for the control of Priority weeds and preservation of our local natural resources.
1. Permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week).
2. Commencing salary at $2,310.74 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,772.89 gross per fortnight + superannuation.

Your new role :
As a Vegetation Management Officer, you will be responsible for:
5. Undertaking weed inspections within Council's road network and on private properties.
6. Identifying weeds and implementing control measures.
7. Providing specialist technical expertise in relation to weed control techniques.
8. Assisting with re-vegetation programs and vegetation management duties.
9. Development and delivery of education programs.
10. Building strong relationships and networks with land holders and other stakeholders.
11. Good computer skills and the ability to use electronic mapping systems.
12. Completing documentation and electronic data requirements relevant to the role.
13. Operating and maintaining Council's plant and equipment.
What you will need to succeed :
14. Qualifications that are relevant to the role e.g. Horticulture, Conservation or similar related discipline.
15. Substantial experience relevant to the role such as identification of weeds and native plants, operation of powered weed spraying equipment, labouring outdoors for extended periods of time, operation of vehicles off-road, experience maintaining small motors and equipment.
16. Strong time management and communication skills.
17. Class LR Driver's Licence, or willingness to obtain.
18. AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation.
19. General Construction Induction Training Card.
20. SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) or willing to obtain.
21. Chainsaw Operation Cross Cut / Felling (Desirable).
