About the role
To provide for the delivery of safe and nutritious food while adhering to Queensland Health guidelines, policies and procedures. As a Food Safety Supervisor, oversee the day-to-day implementation of food safety in the workplace and apply and monitor food safety requirements.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
1. Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
2. Ensure ordering, food preparation, cooking production, presentation methods and distribution services are in accordance with the food safety program.
3. Prepare meals for special dietary requirements
4. Rotate stock and monitor the quality of stock received
5. Control portion size and quality of food
6. Participate in menu development
7. Maintain food presentation standards
8. Report maintenance requirements
9. Have the skills of a Food Safety Supervisor
10. Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients and visitors.
11. Actively contribute to developing and maintaining a culture where staff are vigilant to risks to themselves, their co-workers, clients and visitors (including health and safety, business and operational risks).
12. Actively participate in the Health Service 1:1 conversation process.

About you

13. Proven knowledge and application of cooking requirements and techniques.
14. Proven ability to follow standard recipes and catering procedures.
15. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
16. Good organisational and problem solving skills.
17. Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
18. Ability to maintain records and documents relevant to the position.
