Who will you be working with? This role reports to the Vice President & General Manager.
The Senior Engineering Director will lead the engineering team responsible for hardware and software design, development, and lifecycle maintenance of the product line while providing Engineering support to the shop, commissioning, and Field Service for the Digital Mine product line, ranging from the Collision Awareness System to the Drill Guidance system.
Where is the position located? This is a full-time role based in Eagle Farm (QLD).
What will your typical day look like?
1. Work with business leadership team, Product Management, and Commercial teams to establish and execute a long-term technical strategy to meet customer needs and business objectives.
2. Design and lead organization that balances low cost country support with deep industry / customer interaction to deliver quality solutions at a competitive engineering cost.
3. Lead Engineering team to deliver new product and requisition designs on time.
4. Assure hardware and software design strategy exploits leading technologies for function, quality and cost.
5. Lead team to address any shop or field issues.
6. Develop and strengthen the team’s engineering skillsets and ensure high performance.
7. Develop engineering budget and operate within budget.
8. Develop a pipeline of engineering talent and engineering leadership.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mining or related Engineering field.
2. Minimum 5 yrs engineering experience in mining, propulsion system or equipment design, or related industry.
3. Minimum 3 yrs experience in leading an engineering team.
What do we want to know about you?
1. Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering.
2. Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with embedded firmware, controls, hardware, and software.
3. Experience in a variety of engineering processes such as application / requisition, field support, factory support, and new product introduction.
4. Experience leading and working with global teams.
5. 7 or more years of experience in the mining industry.
6. Domain knowledge in hard rock and soft rock mining.
7. Field experience related to underground mining practices, equipment, propulsion systems, and vehicles.
8. Strong oral and written communication skills.
9. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
10. PC proficiency.
11. Application proficiency for business and project management and control applications.
