Permanent part-time position working 2 days per week / 41 weeks per year, commencing in January 2025.

The College is situated in the beautiful Barossa Valley and has an enrolment of 840 students from ELC through to Year 12 located across two campuses. The College has an outstanding reputation within the community, known for the importance it places on the health and wellbeing of students through a strong Pastoral care approach, built on Christian foundations.
The Youth Worker provides a professional and confidential mentoring/pastoral care service to students to promote emotional health and wellbeing. This position is currently based at the Junior School, but support may be provided to Senior School students if negotiated. The Youth Worker will be an essential member of the Student Wellbeing team, working closely with the College Counsellor and offering proactive support in monitoring and guiding the pastoral development of Faith Lutheran College students.
What we are looking for:
* Relevant qualification such as Diploma and/or Certificate 4 in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care, Youth Work, Counselling, Social Work or Mental Health with relevant competencies in mental health and making appropriate referrals.
* Practical experience providing pastoral care or working with younger children.
* Support for the Christian ethos of the College.
* The ability to exercise high level diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality in a professional work environment.
* Experience in working with youth to enhance engagement and connectedness.
* Ability to provide pastoral or mental health support to students both within and outside of classroom environments.
