Veterinary Nurse - Full Time 38hrs per week Brisbane Pet Surgery is looking for an experienced veterinary nurse with 5+ years of working in the veterinary industry About us We are privately owned and pride ourselves in compassion, quality and affordable veterinary services. We are a small animal practice offering general consults, medical workups, general surgery, major soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. With 6 veterinarians on staff, and a visiting orthopaedic specialist to complement our own onsite orthopaedic surgeons, we offer most surgical procedures. Qualifications & experience Minimum 5 years experience as a veterinary nurse Proficient in anaesthetic monitoring Proficient in preparing patients for surgery and post operative monitoring Confident and knowledgeable in communicating home care to clients Ability to perform nurse consults that include suture removals, dental checks and dressing/bandage changes Passionate about quality care and patient and client experience Resilient and ability to adapt Ability to think on your feet Enjoy working in a busy practice Mastered customer service Excellent communication skills Tasks & responsibilities Welcoming each and every client with your warm smile and compassion Inserting intravenous catheters and blood taking and running samples using IDEXX Preparing patients for surgery (clipping, skin prep and setting up surgical trays) Assist surgeons in surgery Anaesthetic monitoring Assist in admission and discharge process Post operative phone calls to clients Sterilising instruments Book consultation appointments and surgical bookings and respond to emails Communicate and prioritise tasks within the team Ability to assist reception when required Advise clients on OTC food and products including parasite prevention Maintain a clean environment within the clinic Applications must include an application letter and CV addressed to practice manager Kylie Barnard – See our website: Job Type: Full-time Pay: $73,000.00 – $74,000.00 per year Benefits: Employee discount Professional development assistance Schedule: 8 hour shift Weekend availability Work Authorisation: Australia (Preferred) Work Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
