Pathway to Practice Program 2025
0.8EFT 12-month contract - February and April intakes
The Pathway to Practice Program (P2P) is a structured 12-month program that offers Year 2 Graduate Nurses and Midwives the opportunity to continue to further consolidate knowledge and clinical skills, whilst undertaking a range of additional educational opportunities.
As part of this program, participants are offered a 12-month contract in a clinical area. In 2025, limited positions are available in: Emergency, Operating Suites, District Nursing, Kodowlinun (acute medical/surgical), and Midwifery*.
Participants will be provided access to regular debriefs and education sessions, undertake a single Postgraduate unit of study, in addition to four specialty workshops or study days throughout the year.
Participants will be supported by a dedicated Postgraduate Coordinator who will oversee the program for its duration.
*Midwifery rotation only available for currently registered Midwives or dual registration RN/RM.
Mandatory:
* Registered RN, RM or RN/RM holding current AHPRA registration.
* Successful completion of a Graduate Program in the 12 months prior to commencing Pathway to Practice.
* A letter of recommendation from a Nurse Unit Manager from one Graduate Program rotation.
* Satisfactory completion of all Graduate Program clinical hurdles/evaluations and attendance at study days.
* A valid Police Check.
* A current Working with Children’s Check.
Desirable:
* Well-developed interpersonal skills.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to function as a team member.
* Willingness to develop both professionally and personally with further education.
