Mansfield Autism Practitioners (MAPS)
Autism Practitioners are all assessed against the Capability framework and registered as Behaviour Support Practitioners through the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The MAP is a hands-on intensive, and individualised support, working within the family home for multiple days in a row.
About the role:
We are currently recruiting for Mansfield Autism Practitioners (MAP) located across Victoria.
To be a MAP you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in one of the following fields: Teaching, Speech pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Early Childhood Teaching, or Developmental Educator.
* Approved at a minimum Core level Behaviour Support Practitioner through the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
The Mansfield Autism Practitioner Service aims to provide unique in-home support for individuals and families, and this involves:
* Assisting families to identify their child’s strengths and to build on these.
* Helping parents to set realistic, functional and measurable goals for their child/children.
* Setting up practical programmes in the home and providing support to work towards them.
* Coaching parents in best practice strategies in a hands-on approach.
* Working collaboratively with all services and supports involved with the client.
* Working within the parameters of the NDIS.
* Providing families with information on Autism and other services available to them.
* Creating individualised positive Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s), implementing BSP’s with the whole team supporting our clients to ensure consistency across all environments.
