The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
The Community Health Clinic on Truwana/Cape Barren Island provides health care to the community of up to 100 people. The clinic is open from 8.30am until 5pm weekdays and provides an after-hours service for emergencies and urgent care needs. It is staffed by Clinical Nurse Specialists, Aboriginal Health Workers, and Health Care assistants with support from the Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Centre.
The Role:
* Support and assist the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the provision of health care to the Cape Barren Island community, including engagement with local Aboriginal community members to improve and address the delivery of culturally appropriate healthcare.
* The usual pattern of work will entail a one week on/three weeks off routine. Travel to/from Truwana / Cape Barren Island from either Launceston or Flinders Island, and on-site accommodation, will be provided for successful applicants who reside elsewhere.
* Truwana / Cape Barren Island is the second largest island of the Furneaux Group in the Bass Strait and is a remote and isolated location.
You will need:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Certificate III/IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (or working towards)
Details of appointment:
Permanent part-time, day worker (with on-call) position, working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing from 24 March 2025.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $62,486 to $65,119 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
