The Role
As a Senior Payroll Advisor/Technical Officer you will work in a vibrant customer service team based environment delivering operational and service delivery outcomes across Defence Pay and Administration.
You will have a focus on process assurance and customer service functions and ensuring the achievement of our goals of quality interactions while meeting our business priorities through our people.
You will:
1. Provide technical support and advice within your team and across the branch.
2. Work closely with the APS 6 Team Leader in support of communicating expectations and making effective use of individual and team capabilities.
3. Demonstrate customer service mindset and supporting Team Leaders in improving outputs for our customers.
4. Be accountable for the development and maintenance of supporting documentation and tools in your area of expertise.
5. Actively foster and encourage continuous improvement of processes and tools.
6. Researching and analysing data to identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Manage policy and system escalations.
8. Leading and participating in Branch wide projects to create and streamline processes.
9. Demonstrate extensive experience in developing individuals’ capabilities and confidence through regular coaching and feedback.
10. Undertake analysis and resolve complex and sensitive queries.
11. Work closely with the APS 6 Team Leader and training team to develop and deliver training and support of succession planning.
12. Support the health and wellbeing of the team, in a hybrid-working environment.
