Senior Recruitment Partner at Hays Technology | Assoc. CIPDThe data engineering team sits within the Research, Analytics and Data Branch of the Digital Solutions Division. The Senior Data Engineer will be reporting to the Assistant Director directly and the Data Engineer is accountable under limited direction to perform, coordinate and assist in managing the collection, storage and availability of data for use by data analysts in the Agency.The Senior Data Engineer is an important conduit within the Division providing direct support to data analysts, and through consultation and stakeholder engagement coordinates and contributes to the timely and accurate achievement of Division outcomes.As this role is for Fed Government, candidates need to have Citizenship and Baseline / NV1 clearance.The Senior Data Engineer will provide a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills, including, but not limited to:Design and develop Power BI solutions in an Azure environment, leveraging Data Bricks where applicable, to visualise and analyse health data effectively.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs related to health data analytics and reporting.Develop and optimise data models and queries to ensure high performance and scalability of Power BI dashboards and reports.Implement data cleansing, transformation, and enrichment processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.Create visually compelling and insightful dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into health data trends, patterns, and metrics.Perform thorough testing and validation of data to ensure accuracy, reliability, and usability.Provide team members with technical guidance, support and training as needed.Adhere to security requirements for handling sensitive health data in a government sector environment.Collaboration and Co-design, work closely with stakeholders and delivery teams to understand dependencies.Key duties and responsibilitiesProvide expertise and technical knowledge in specialist area across a range of programs or activities for the agency.Provide accurate and specialised advice including anticipating problems and contributing to issues management.Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management and risk assessment activities within sphere of responsibility.Ensure quality outputs for a team including the development of specialist, professional and/or technical expertise.
