Role Overview:
* Encourage and support the recovery process of people with a mental illness.
* Provide support to a Day Program that will consist primarily of group work focusing on psychoeducational, skills development, recovery, healthy lifestyles and community connectedness.
* Deliver mental health programs in a voluntary inpatient unit setting.
* Provide support that is sensitive, client-focused, community-oriented and planned.
* Workdays will be Thursdays, Fridays and a half day Sunday.
Requirements:
* Minimum of a Cert IV in a Community services related discipline (ideally a completed degree or Diploma).
* Experience and skills in working with people experiencing mental illness.
* Experience in facilitating group programs.
* Possess awareness of the needs, expectations and issues pertaining to clients with mental illness.
* Demonstrate effective listening, communication skills, empathy; and the capacity to relate with others with dignity and respect.
* Have a strong client-focused and recovery-based philosophy.
* Ability to work in partnership with clients, family/carers, and other social and community networks.
* Ability to implement and facilitate planned activities resulting in greater community access and support.
* Good computer skills.
* Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC.
* Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
* Current Drivers License.
