Exciting opportunity for experienced Mechatronics Engineer with a Tier 1 business!
The Company
Our client has engaged Blackbook Executive to recruit a business-critical position as the Head of Mechatronics Engineering. This position has arisen due to the evolving nature of the business and a need to become more sophisticated. This organisation is seeking a Head of Engineering capable of delivering a standardised and simplified, highly streamlined approach to new product development; ensuring designs are optimised and accurately delivered to manufacturing. The Head of Engineering will have the ability to engage and drive the current team in order to optimise their skill base and improve the overall team dynamic.
The Role
Reporting into the Director of Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
• Building relationships with project team members, engineering leadership & management, product management, operations and after sales to determine and resolve issues associated with the project & product design.
• Responsible for all design quality management.
• Managing a diverse and multi-skilled team to achieve departmental outcomes.
• Managing the product development pipeline to ensure new projects are scoped and planned at a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) level, awaiting execution.
• Complete ownership of the Mechatronics NPD process ensuring continuous review and improvement.
• Preparing portfolio level yearly budgets and headcount submissions.
Your Background
• Minimum 8-10 years in engineering management roles.
• Masters in Engineering discipline (Control Systems, Mechanical, Automation etc.)
• Proven ability to autonomously manage large projects, prioritize tasks and deliver to milestones and objectives.
• Extensive stakeholder management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering and design principles, and relevant technologies and their application to machine tool design.
• Extensive knowledge of mechatronics and experience across mechanical, systems and control engineering.
