Territory Executive Level 2 based on Christmas Island
Ongoing Vacancy – Full time
Package includes:
1. Base salary of between $127,744 and $149,033 per annum
2. Employer contribution to superannuation at 16% of base salary
3. District allowance payable in addition to base salary
4. Annual return airfares assistance to Perth
5. Relocation assistance if relocating to the Indian Ocean Territories
6. Subsidised housing may be provided if relocating to the Territories
7. Subsidised motor vehicle may be provided if relocating to the Territories
The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking a motivated, professional and suitably qualified person to join our team as the Human Resources (HR) Manager with the IOT Corporate Service stream based on Christmas Island.
The HR Manager provides leadership and operational management of a small team responsible for the effective delivery of operational and strategic HR functions and projects across the IOTA.
Responsibilities include:
1. Management of the recruitment and selection process
2. Induction and onboarding
3. Performance management
4. Grievance and exit management
5. HR policies and procedures development
6. Work health and safety
7. Training and development
Our ideal applicant has extensive demonstrated experience in HR management positions and expert skills across multiple HR functions including a solid track record of implementing, managing and responding to a broad range of complex HR issues in an often sensitive environment.
The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of employment legislation including the Fair Work Act and the ability to interpret and apply to individual circumstances.
They will have a high level of integrity and resilience with the ability to monitor, prioritise and meet deadlines by taking responsibility for producing quality output and timely outcomes. They will have demonstrated skills in influencing and generating important HR outcomes as well as excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Our ideal applicant will have high-level written skills with the proven capacity to research complex information and undertake sensitive case management work, prepare briefings, letters, correspondence and detailed reports.

To be considered, applicants must be eligible to obtain a security clearance at Baseline Vetting Level ( must be an Australian citizen ), hold a current ‘C’ class driving licence transferrable to the Indian Ocean Territories and be subject to a health assessment.
