This is a permanent, full-time position, working from our South Melbourne office.
The role:
As a Production Technician you will be responsible for building, testing, installing, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment that comprise Verra Mobilities hardware solutions. The technician provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing across Verra Mobilities hardware solutions. As a detail-oriented Production Technician at Verra Mobility you will:
1. Troubleshoot and repair a range of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, including computers, radar systems, cameras, and test equipment.
2. Apply thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories, principles, specifications, and electrical codes to perform work tasks.
3. Identify and report potential electrical/mechanical problems, risks, and inherent issues in production materials.
4. Manufacture or repair hardware assemblies, fabricate parts, cables, and test fixtures, and inspect and test all assemblies prior to shipment.
5. Maintain equipment, document work procedures, perform preventive maintenance, assist in troubleshooting, and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure the highest product quality.
Who are you?
The perfect candidate for this role has 5+ years’ experience in electronics assembly in a commercial environment. They possess thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, adeptly using special instruments for diagnostics and electronic test equipment. Skilled in using hand tools and small power tools, they can read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written instructions. The ideal candidate holds a tertiary or vocational/trade qualification in Electronics, and can successfully pass role-specific background checks, including Criminal History and Pre-Employment Medical examinations.
