We are proud to be driving a program that delivers positive environmental, social and economic impacts, and we’re continuing to invest in innovative solutions that ensure all can access the benefits Containers for Change brings.The Role: As our Corporate Counsel you’ll provide in-house legal expertise and advice across a range of commercial and specialised legislative areas. Reporting to our Manager Legal Services you’ll play a key part in supporting COEX’s strategic and operational objectives.Strategic Legal Advice: Provide expert legal counsel to internal stakeholders, with a primary focus on Scheme contracts and compliance with the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2018 (Qld), ensuring alignment with COEX’s strategic and operational goals.Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts, ensuring legal risks are managed effectively while supporting business objectives and operational efficiency.Governance & Compliance: Assist in developing, implementing, and improving legal risk management frameworks, governance policies, and compliance processes to uphold regulatory standards and mitigate business risks.Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Support the management of legal disputes, oversee external legal services, and contribute to fraud investigation governance, ensuring COEX’s interests are protected.Who You Are: Our values - Be proactive, Value others, Work together, Contribute positively and Be transparent are at the heart of our exceptional culture, so we’re looking for team members who not only share them, but eager to be part of a team that brings them to life. In addition to alignment with COEX’s values, you share our passion for sustainability and have exceptional relationship building skills. You have proven success in these areas:Admitted solicitor in Queensland with a law degree, completed legal training, and a practising certificate (or eligibility) under the Legal Profession Act 2007.5+ years’ experience in a large law firm or in-house with a major corporation.Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organisation.Strong negotiating skills which can traverse both legal and financial/commercial issues.Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and provide pragmatic, cost-effective legal solutions.Proven ability to build strong internal and external relationships.How to Apply: If you’re ready to join a team that’s making a real difference, we want to hear from you.
