Position: Sous Chef
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Pialligo ACT 2609
Our client is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their catering company located in Pialligo, Australian Capital Territory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to direct food preparation
* Help design food and drink menu
* Produce high quality plated, considering both design and taste
* Oversee and supervise all kitchen staff
* Assist with menu planning, inventory and supply management
* Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets
* Plan menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service
* Liaise with employees regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu and any relevant changes
* Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met
* Maintain presentation standards for all food whilst maintain recipe standards
* Ensure stock is ordered & rotated accordingly & minimum wastage. Must maintain strick stock control procedures
* Fulfil duties in the preparation & production of food as requested & delegate duties to other employees where fit
* Must ensure all working areas are clean & tidy, all equipment must be cleaned, serviced & maintained to OHS standards
* Must be willing to learn procedures and co-ordinate with head chef.
Requirements:
* Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in relevant field
* At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
* At least three (3) years of prior experience as a Chef.
