About the Role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our NDIS service team.
The role is classified at Social & Community Employee Services Level 2 of the Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHADS) with the benefit of salary sacrifice options.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide care and support to clients in line with their personalised care plans including but not limited to domestic assistance, social support, transport, meal preparation, group participation.
* Deliver disability support services within allocated timeframes according to the daily schedule and liaise with the NDIS Supervisor for scheduling changes, cancellations or disruptions.
* Maintain professional and appropriate relationships with participants, employees, and the general public at all times ensuring the confidentiality of organisational, staff and participant information.
* Ensure accurate completion of all required paperwork in relation to daily and weekly tasks.
* Follow established procedures for reporting feedback (compliments and complaints).
About You
* Demonstrated experience in supporting people with a disability.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to manage participant expectations.
* Proactive, enthusiastic and the ability to adjust approach in line with changing priorities.
* Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
* Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
* Strong time management and the ability to prioritise.
* Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to job and duties.
* Excellent problem-solving and conflict management skills.
* Appropriate level of physical fitness.
* Good knowledge of the Devonport, Latrobe, Kentish, and Central Coast Municipalities is desirable.
* Must be an Australian Resident or hold an Australian Working Visa.
All MCCA employees must:
* Hold a current driver’s licence.
* Have a Working with Vulnerable Persons Card - NDIS endorsed (or be willing to obtain).
* Have a current National Police Check (or be willing to obtain).
* Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
