The Health Promotion Team at SWSLHD is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate.
Deputy Director to support the Director, Health Promotion to provide senior management and operational support for health promotion services across SWSLHD and contribute to the broader service planning for health improvement in the population.
The position will contribute to the overall planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting, quality improvement and day to day management of health promotion programs and work. Current programs include but are not limited to healthy eating and active living, food and built environments, mental well-being, Aboriginal programs, tobacco and e-cigarette control.
You will be a strong leader and have skills in developing programs and encouraging health promotion strategies within the community. Your outgoing personality will allow you to network extensively with partner organisations. You will work alongside a supportive Health Promotion leadership group, and a vibrant and innovative health promotion team.

What You'll be Doing
The purpose of this position is to improve the health of people living in South Western Sydney by contributing to Population Health’s program of work in line with the Ministry of Health and South Western Sydney Local Health District’s (SWSLHD) goals, principles and strategies.

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health promotion or public health discipline, management or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
2. Extensive experience in providing leadership in population focused health promotion.
3. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, and program design, implementation and evaluation within an evidence-based framework.
4. Extensive experience in and understanding of health promotion research and the use of evidence.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in at least two of these areas: healthy eating, active living, food and built environment, mental well-being, Aboriginal programs, tobacco and e-cigarette control.
6. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with internal and external program partners to achieve successful program implementation and sustainability.
7. Demonstrated capacity to plan, manage and evaluate all aspects of a medium sized team, including motivating and coordinating professional staff and to work within an action oriented multidisciplinary team.
8. Demonstrated high-level organisational and computer skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills in all settings and circumstances, including computer literacy and ability to use standard office programs.
9. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
