LAUNDRY ATTENDANTHamilton Island has a range of hotels, outlets and facilities that offer guests an opportunity to relax and enjoy the island within beautiful surroundings.As a Laundry Attendant you will be responsible for linen distribution to all hotels and food & beverage outlets.
The Laundry Attendant is also responsible for the cleanliness and presentation of all assigned areas.
Through correct linen handling, the Laundry Attendant will minimise soiled linen and at the same time, reduce linen costs.Your BenefitsSubsidised accommodation paid out of pre-tax earningDiscounted gym facilitiesStaff bar and cafe with extended opening hoursStaff discounts on a range of water sports, activities and island restaurantsYour RoleEnsure all assigned areas are kept clean, safe and hygienicTake personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all timesOperate a forklift 7 hours a day, up to 5 days a week.Complete a daily check on the forklift prior to use and report any abnormalities or issues to the Laundry Supervisor or Linen ManagerReceive two truck deliveries a day, operate a forklift to ensure pallecons are sorted, including separation of toweling and linen for each property or outletUse a forklift sort any excess toweling and linen and re-stack to ensure presentation is maintainedMinimize the chance of soiled linen through incorrect handling or storage of unused itemsEnsure all departments are sorting linen correctly in to the correct pallecons and repack any that are neededEnsure table linen is accounted for and distributed to food and beverage outletsLoad the laundry truck prior to close of day with dirty palleconsAdvise Laundry Supervisor / Linen Manager of any stock shortages, therefore minimizing any delaysConduct a daily collection of used towels from pre-determined collection points around the islandRefill of laundry powder dispensers for guest laundriesAssist with the cleaning and organization of the Reef View stores shedComplete the Laundry Attendant daily checklist and sign off prior to end of shiftAbout YouYou will have excellent personal presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
You have time management and organisational skills and can be flexible in terms of shifts and rostering.You will also have:Forklift license with minimum 2 years' experience (Essential)Qld open / unrestricted driver's license (Essential)Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role (Desirable)
